About Dr. Eleni Pourgouri
Eleni Pourgouri is a General Surgeon and a graduate of the Medical School of Semmelweis University in Budapest. Following the completion of her medical studies, she worked as a trainee doctor at the Surgical Department of Famagusta General Hospital for a period of six months.
She subsequently moved to Germany, where she completed her specialty training in General Surgery at St. Johannes Hospital in Dortmund, a recognized center for colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery, and laparoscopic surgery. As part of her residency training, she also worked for six months in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, gaining substantial experience in the management and care of critically ill surgical patients.
During her specialization, she developed a strong clinical interest and extensive experience in colorectal surgery and bariatric surgery, applying modern, minimally invasive techniques with a focus on patient safety and postoperative quality of life.
Since 2024, she has been practicing as a General Surgeon within the General Healthcare System of Cyprus (GeSY).
